A Poem on Inability

Held

Days pass me by
Calendar pages blowing in the wind
The clock shattered last month
Broken glass fills the room
An icy storm invites itself in

As months pass I fall
I can’t seem to rise again
Slipping on the wet floor
Rainwater mixed with blood
Held together by apathy
The only sunlight I see, fragmented

Read me a story about a girl
I can’t be alone, trapped in my mind
Glass fills my head
My thoughts, in pieces
As the rain pours in
Running red as it hits me
As the years pass by
Alone
